The crane is depicted in flight, stretching its wings among the clouds. The piece itself is exploratory in nature, and the imagery likewise. I decided on an Origami crane as the form of Origami itself is naturally inclined towards simplicity and geometry, suited to welding as a 3D medium. I attempted to juxtapose the angular lines of the crane itself with curved designs in its wings and created a pedestal for it to display the crane at an inclined angle.
