Void deck

The work depicts a strange space of the void deck in HDBs, different planes and staircases interconnect and intersect and strange angles, creating a confusing perspective. The name itself refers to the public space in the HDB, but is also a contradiction, as presented in the painting. The space is empty, yet filled with things. This presents a familiar yet unseen and unrecognisable space, questioning the spatial awareness of the viewer through the manipulation of familiar environments into something completely different. Ironically, spaces that we were the most familiar with, are now turned into a strange and nonsensical place.
