Walk through Walls

The artwork explores the tension between self, space, and internal-external identities. This is represented by an abstract, moving figure trapped within architecture. The contrast between the stillness of the room and the dynamism of the figure creates a sense of anxiety in the composition. Anxious, pulled brushstrokes are used for texture. The contrast between the vibrant colour and geometric shape translated immediately. Influenced by Francis Bacon?s red rooms, I aim to express the struggle of breaking from one?s external surroundings which continue to influence one’s identity.
