Bidding Opens for Gift a Guitar: A Star-Studded Auction Empowering 600 Youths Through Music

Singapore, 12th November — The bidding has officially opened for the Gift a Guitar Charity Auction, a nationwide movement that combines the power of music, creativity, and community to empower 600 underprivileged youths through music education and performance opportunities.
Launched by SGMUSO in partnership with The Rice Company Limited (TRCL), Gift a Guitar provides brand-new acoustic guitars and structured lessons to youths aged 13 to 19 from underserved backgrounds. The initiative will culminate in the Sing60 Festival at Fort Canning Park in November 2025, where selected participants will perform alongside professional musicians, marking the next generation’s debut on Singapore’s biggest stage for homegrown music.
Celebrities In the Cause
Following Prime Minister Lawrence Wong’s inspiring donation and signed guitar, celebrated Singaporean musicians have joined the cause, each donating an autographed guitar that holds personal significance.
Among them are international Mandopop star JJ Lin, and homegrown talents including Benjamin Kheng, Shabir Sulthan, and Taufik Batisah, each donating a signed guitar that will be auctioned to raise funds for the initiative in support of The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BTBAF).
