Luminance

This work captures the quiet, everyday scenes surrounding my HDB neighbourhood, celebrating moments that often go unnoticed. I was drawn to the contrast between the warm glow of lights from individual homes and the structured, repetitive architecture of Singapore’s public housing. While HDB blocks may appear uniform and impersonal from the outside, the illuminated windows reveal the warmth, comfort, and lives within. Through this work, I hope to encourage viewers to appreciate the familiarity and humanity embedded in these ordinary spaces, reflecting how I experience and see the everyday landscape of Singapore.
