Under Pressure

This artwork is about the academic stress. The girl in the artwork is being controlled by hands which symbolises the external stress placed on the girl by others because of academics. In the background, there is a disappointed face looking down on her as she tries to do her best, depicted by the light that she produces. The pages and hourglass is a constant reminder of the many academic expectations set by others. The masks and roses symbolise that academic achievements seem good on the surface, but is actually the result of a sacrifice of freedom and sense of self.
